Unprepared: SIMPLE & EASY PRIME RIB ROAST 1 SEASON the prime rib with salt and pepper. 2 ROAST the prime rib in a 350 F oven to desired doneness (see below) 3 SLICE the prime rib across the grain. Serve with hot au jus. INGREDIENTS - Prime Rib 1 PRIME RIB ROAST 2 TBSP SALT 2 TBSP GROUND BLACK PEPPER INGREDIENTS - Beef Au Jus 1 CUP Diced Yellow Onion 1 TBSP Minced Garlic 1 (32 oz) Carton Unsalted Beef Stock Preheat oven to 350 F * Season roast and place it fat side up in roasting pan. Do not add water. Do not cover. Insert meat thermometer so tip is centered in thickest part of roast, not resting in fat or touching bone. * Roast according to desired doneness (see below). Transfer roast to carving board, tent loosely with aluminum foil and let stand 10 to 15 minutes. Temperature will continue to rise 5 -10 F to desired doneness and roast will be easier to carve. * Au Jus: While roasting the prime rib, cook the diced onions and minced garlic in a skillet over medium with a little olive oil for 5-7 minutes. Pour 1 carton of beef stock int the skillet, bring to a boil and reduce to a low simmer for 1 hour. Serve with the roasted sliced prime rib. BONELESS PRIME RIB ROAST COOKING GUIDELINES Weight (pounds): 3-4 ; 4-6 ; 6-8 Medium Rare (145 F for 3 minutes): 1 1/2-1 3/4 hrs ; 1 3/4-2 hrs ; 2-2 1/4 hrs Medium (160 F): 1 3/4 - 2 hrs ; 2 - 2 1/4 hrs ; 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 hrs CARVING INSTRUCTIONS Carve a Boneless Prime Rib to slices of any desired thickness. Place the boneless prime rib on a carving board and slice against the grain of desired thickness

We cooked it at 500* in a cast iron dutch oven for 35minutes and shut the oven off to heat bake for 2hrs. Do not open the oven door for any reason. it was perfect. Great taste, very tender, and just the right size for 2 people with left overs for the next night.

I would recommend partially freezing it before you slice if you want steaks it was difficult, but we managed to get a few decent steaks before I made the rest into a roast froze the roast for Christmas dinner and we got three decent size meals out of the steaks two of them which we froze

The only thing about it that I myself didn't like was the price itself. I saw a prime rib roast at Publix on two different occasions that was twice the size of mine and about half the price of what I paid for it with Walmart. From now on I'll be purchasing my roast from Publix.
