Key Features and Benefits:

  • Feel your music
The Beats Acoustic Engine gives you an intimate, real encounter with your music. Thanks to Beats' signature DSP software delivers the exact emotional experience that Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine, and some of the music industry's greatest rock, hip-hop, pop, electronic, and R&B producers want you to feel.
  • Put the world on mute
Silence the noise from your daily commute or the drama from your loud neighbors with Beats' no-compromise dual-mode Adaptive Noise Canceling (ANC). When you're listening to music, ANC automatically strikes a balance between your audio and the world outside. And if you want to use the headphone just to cancel external noise, ANC-only mode automatically increases the level of noise cancellation to make things even quieter.
  • What batteries
A 20-hour rechargeable battery makes sure your vibe keeps going. To prevent wasting energy, the auto on/off feature turns off when you unplug, and the visible Battery Fuel Gauge lets you see at a glance how much juice is available.
  • Lighter, stronger, and more comfortable
When Beats re-imagined these legendary headphones, they designed it like a beautiful sports car and made disciplined choices. They streamlined the Beats Studio with fast curves, smooth surfaces, and no visible screws. It now weighs 13 percent less than the original and has a lighter, stronger, and more comfortable headband. The ear cups are softer and there's an ergonomic bellow to create a flexible, custom fit for every head shape, so you can keep your music all to yourself.

The Haters are Wrong.

This is my first Beats purchase. I am a radio DJ and made the purchase on the recommendation of my co-workers. Before the Beats Studios I had some Sanheizers. They sounded really good too. So good in fact that if I tried to listen to regular headphones the sound quality took a huge dump. The new studios are way better then the original in the bass department. Also, the trebble is impressive as well. The one complaint I have is depending on the music you listen to, some backup vocals can sound hollow. I listened to Christina Aguleria's Candy Man and it was noticeable. The active noise cancelling does not shut out sound completely, but when listening to any music at regular volume I was able to shut out my neighbors party next door completely. If you use it without listening to audio you will hear a buzz in them. Not severe but noticeable Overall, it was not near as bad as the haters online say. Please listen to the headphones and make the decision for yourself instead of listening to the 'so called audiophiles' Two more things here. I am an audiophile. Literally, I deal with audio for a living. They sound fine to me and I have good hearing. Second, if you like your instruments. Then these are the phones for you. Seriously, the headphones will let you rediscover your music collection as far as insturments and effects are concerned.

Unbelievable Headphones/Overpriced

Dr. Dre Headphones have become the most popular brand of headphones since their inception in 2008. They have become a symbol of quality and style. This societal incorporation has allowed for prices to skyrocket. When buying Dr. Dre Beats, one should remember that part of the price tag is not based on sound quality or even build quality. Most reviews saying Dr. Dre Beats products are "the best headphones ever" are a result of one's first purchase of a high quality headphone. The first time you put on a pair of these headphones you will be absolutely blown away. The sound will be incredible and even for those who do not love music will enjoy listening. This is because the comparison most draw is from the terrible earbuds that come with Apple products for example. Of course a $300 pair of headphones will sound infinitely better than essentially free throw in earbuds from Apple. That being said there is something to be said about the differences between the Beats products. The only pair even remotely worth buying is the Studios. They are the only pair that comes close to being as good as their price indicates. The solo HDs have made strides over the original Solo but are still double the price they should be at $200. The old Studios had a common complaint regarding exaggerating the high and low sounds in music. For example the bass in songs is exaggerated, and most who prefer rap or dubstep genres enjoy it better. However, the vast majority of music (and arguably even rap/dubsteb.etc.) sound much better without exaggerated sounds. This made some draw the conclusion that Beats were terrible and distorting. It is true that an equally good headphones exist at prices ~$175, and they are normally less distorting. Many people are put off by the appearances of those headphones compared to Beats, but if aesthetics are something you can get over I'd suggest exploring other options. For me, I bought these knowing about the cheaper alternatives because of how cool these are. They are much smaller than old Studios and most other high quality headphones. They look absolutely incredible and are SO comfortable. They fit perfectly over the ear and will be comfortable for hours. The new Studios have improved sound quality a great amount and reduced distortion enough to satisfy the most hardcore audiophile, but not enough to put off a bass enthusiast. These are now rechargeable! The old ones had to take AAA batteries and replacing them was more than annoying. The new ones need an hour to fully charge and they last 20 hours of use before the battery runs out. The new beats are also much less fragile than the old pairs (especially in the headband) and are overall a great product. I cannot say I regret buying these for any reason.
