No battery supplied but I already had several batteries. (Edger, hedge trimmer, blower, pole saw.) I don't know how long the battery will last but with LED's this light should burn for a long time. I live in Florida and having an emergency light that will last a long time is important. I guess it could also be used as a flashlight like Black & Decker says but and emergency light is more important to me.
