The C by GE Smart Switch-Motion Sensing and Dimmer adds smart bulb functionality to traditional bulbs and keeps smart bulbs smart. The smart Wi-Fi switch works as dimmer switch and enhances traditional bulb functionality with motion sensing, out-of-home control, scheduling and scene setting. With motion sensing and ambient light detection, set lights to turn on or off based on natural light and motion in the room. When Cync or C by GE Smart Bulbs are installed, the smart switch allows Cync app or voice control even when power is turned off at the switch. Pair the Smart Switch with Cync or C by GE Smart Bulbs in other fixtures like table lamps and control your all your lights in the room from one wall switch. C by GE Smart Switch wirelessly connects with other Cync or C by GE Smart Switches, so you can control the same light fixture from multiple switches, even if the switches are on different circuits. Simple DIY set up. The Smart Switch connects directly with Google Home devices without a hub required. Neutral wire--usually a white or gray wire--is required.

My GE Rep told me to avoid using this switch
I had many issues with this, so I contacted support. First, I was wondering how long a scene would last when activated. The rep said the scenes don't work well with the motion sensor and that I should avoid using scenes. Next, I had issues with the ambient light sensor...it only detects bright light shined directly on the switch, even when set to detect "Any light" in the room. He said I should avoid using that feature too. The android app only seems to connect when within 3 feet of the switch...otherwise it won't let you save settings or just tell you that you have limited functionality. The iOS app works for the most part. It just won't let you set a time for the motion sensor to activate...it wants me to use 5:01pm for every setting. The rep avoided answering whether I should also avoid this feature. Don't buy this if you're expecting all those extra features to work. Go buy a dummy motion sensor switch, it'll be smarter than this smart switch.
