Avoiding plastics?
Nice removable, washable silicone seal/ gasket. I've been avoiding plastic as possible, now I have durable, reliable stainless steel tops for my glass jars. Planning to use these lids for dry food storage, beans, pasta, popcorn, spices etc. I like the wide mouth size for pouring contents into measuring cups, and just right for measuring spoons as well.

Truly leakproof, not like the white plastic ones, or even the black plastic ones that claim to be leakproof. They have a removable silicone gasket, so you don't have to screw them on so tight that you can hardly get the lid off. Expensive, but they have been worth every penny for my uses. I have in both regular and wide mouth sizes, and have bought more.

Excellent Sealing!
The Ball Reusable Stainless Steel Mason Jar Lids with Silicone Gaskets are the BOMB! I discovered this excellent Ball product last year when canning fruit jams in my home. They are sold in regular-mouth and wide-mouth sizes. Although these one-piece stainless steel lids are not recommended for use in the home-canning process, they are ideal for resealing home-canned foods once the metal canning-lid and metal band have been removed from the mason jar containing the home-canned food. No more hassling with the two-part lids on our mason jars, once we have broken the canning seal on the jam! This Christmas I am including a Ball stainless steel lid with every jar of home-canned jam that I give to family and friends. These one-piece lids are so much easier to use as opposed to the two-piece lid-and-band used during the home-canning process! I am looking forward to introducing my loved-ones to these excellent one-piece lids.
