Perfect for my needs
This fire safe is the best option in it's class. I'm so glad that I returned that problem/dented Sentry safe and bought this First Alert 2092-f -BD. Bolt down does not void warranty. The key overrides the combination. Combination works smoothly every time. I can fit my binders into this safe because of the extra capacity offered over the other brands in this price range/size. Fast free shipping. Packaged well. Very happy with product. Definitely recommend.

good fire safe, easy lockdown
The lockdown is a 3" or so plate with 6 screws so make sure you are over a stud, No wall mount. If you have very thick carpets you will need to take washer off the bolt that secures to the plate. Very good for will / trust and the normal jewelry. If you are keeping gold bullion you want a steel safe but then you can afford one. ImpossibleTom

Nice Safe
This safe is solid. It's heavy--94 pounds. The combination lock is substantial, turns smoothly and the numbers are large and clear. It opens without any issues, always on the first try. You will need some desiccant silica gel because it will get damp in there. I bought the no-cobalt rechargeable kind, but it did come with a big pouch of desiccant silica gel. The company will send some more, if you ask them. I installed this safe as per the instructions and see no issues at all. It's solid. The installation wasn't overly difficult, just requires drilling and installing screws, and turning a wrench. Yes, I'm sure some crazed lunatic would be able to rip it from the hardwood and subfloor--also hardwood--if they really, really worked at it. Then they'd have to carry the 94 pound safe out the door with broken hardwood planks sticking off the ends with ADT sirens blaring....that wouldn't be at all noticeable. I'd recommend this safe. It's roomy--I can fit papers, jewelry and all manner of other things in there. The adjustable shelf makes it easy to organize. It looks really nice in our closet. And I don't have to run to the bank to get to a safety deposit box anymore....
