Good as a Docking Station, Not good for a pass-thu.
I will say I did return this item, though no fault of FireFold. I was able to do MOST of what I needed to do with this device. I use J5create products often, and they work well. The only problem with this unit, and I did contact J5Create, was they do not recommend using any drives, scanners, and the like, from this docking station. I could not opeerate a SSD drive through the docking station, even with the power applied. The following is the quote from J5Create support; ** We do not recommend plugging in external hard-drives, printers, scanners, fans, CD drives, certain speakers, shredders and other such high-powered devices into the j5create devices due to power requirements. These type of devices typically require more power than what our devices can provide regardless of it having it's own power supply attached; therefore, we recommend plugging those type of devices directly to the computer instead. It is either going to work, or it will not. Our hubs are intended for devices such as mouse, keyboards, flash-drives.
