TCL 15,000 BTU Energy Star Window Air Conditioner; White

This AC has “BY FAR EXCEEDED” all my “EXPECTATIONS”! TCL 15,000 BTU Energy Star Window Air Conditioner; White! I'll hopefully put a ton of useful information in this review that will be helpful for you to decide whether you would purchase this AC unit over others! I personally just love this AC, I love it's looks, its super simple to use and to install! The front of the AC unit has curved looking ends, whereas my old ac only had square ends making it look bland. The curves and the display are very nice and very appealing to me. I also love the fact that the AC vents where the air comes out of is two smaller separated vents, and not one super long one; this is super useful as over the years the longer ones always seem to break up and then you're just looking at a large empty vent hole. It's an Energy Star rated AC which is awesome as it allows you to compare the cost of using this to other units the same size that are not Energy Star rated. This AC costs approximately $125.00 to use per year, while other units of the same size run all the way up to $182 per year to use. This AC runs super nice and quiet in my opinion and it can cool off a large room in just no time flat! It also comes with a remote control and the batteries are included; it's not small or really large but its definitely a good size to use and to not lose, so just another added benefit! Display Features are really, really nice on this AC! You have 3 different cooling and fan speeds to choose from as well as a ½ hour to 24-hour timer to use to turn off and to turn on the AC at your convenience. The timer feature is awesome if you work, as you can set it to come on a couple of hours before you get home; coming home to a cool house. In the old days we always had to leave the unit running all day and spending loads of money on using something we weren't even home to enjoy. So overall the sleep timer and the 24-hour timer can truly save you a ton of time and money for sure. The instructions are super easy to read and to follow; as well there is an ez install kit that's included! In most cases depending on your abilities it will take you 20-minutes to 1-hour to have it completely installed; at least that's in my opinion. The unit is heavy so when you get ready to put it in the window or through a wall you will need another person to help you for sure! One last tip before I give the overall consensus, well two tips: When FedEx delivered my AC, I met him at the truck and it was flipped up on its side, basically leaving the AC sitting in the wrong position for who knows how long. The compressors in these AC's have oil in them and they sit at the bottom half of the compressor, when the unit is turned funny or sitting on its side etc. then the oil can get up into the lines where the freon and gases run; which in turn can cause a plug in the system, making your unit not work and having a costly repair. Walmart offers an extra warranty offer on all their items, and on anything that costs me over $100.00 I always purchase it, as it can save you a ton of money as well as a ton of headaches should you have any problems at all. So last but not least when you know you're AC has been sitting in the wrong position then just set it to the right position; the way the arrows show on the box will help you if it's still packed up and just let it sit for 24 hours before you turn it on and use it. This usually allows all the oil to drain back to where it came from and you're good to go. This AC is packed up super well and it would be really hard to damage it in shipping the way they have used the shipping items to pack it with. There are two shipping screws that need to be removed before using, they are in your instructions but truly its just the two screws right on top of the machine, one will have a tag attached marking it. One last thing when you install this AC remember to tilt it down in the back at a slight angle so the water coming from rain etc. will drain at the rear outside and not at the front inside. OVERALL: I just love this air conditioner; its quality is exceptionally good! Looks of the AC itself is really nice with curved instead of squared edges! Runs super nice and quiet and cools off our large two rooms super nice and fast! The filter is super easy to clean with dish soap and water; dry then put right back in; the indicator light to clean it goes off at 500 hours of use! The sleep and the regular 24-hour timers will save you a boat load of overuse for no reason and a lot on your energy bill! Using the timers optimizes when you want it to run or not to run! It's an Energy Star rated AC and costs approximately $125.00 a year to run, which is super reasonable for this size of Air Conditioner, whereas others of this size can cost you around $190.00 a year to run. Easy instructions to follow and comes with a very easy to use hardware install kit! Comes with a very nice sized remote control and does come with batteries as well! I WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS AC TO ANYONE AT ALL, WITHOUT ANY HESITATION! I've been in love with it since I first unpacked it, and I loved it a ton more when I seen the quality and all the options of the timers for uses! It's super easy to operate and to use the timers, and it just plain works great, runs quiet, and looks great as well! Highly, Highly Recommended!
