WD 12TB My Cloud Home Duo Personal Cloud Storage - WDBMUT0120JWT-NESN

I am thrilled with my WD 12TB My Cloud Home Duo. I got this at a great discounted price in June 2024 - EUR240 discount for 12TB Duo device - plenty of storage to last me for a long time. The ability to connect to Plex is excellent, making it easy to stream my media collection. My upload & download speeds are fantastic when connected to my 1Gb broadband, ensuring smooth and fast access to all my files. However, I am slightly disappointed that the only inbuilt backup service available is ElephantDrive, especially since Elephantdrive does not offer two-factor authentication for customer logins - honestly, this should be standard, especially for a company that handles customer's drive backups. It would be great if WD considered adding support for alternatives like Backblaze or iDrive, whose login security meets these minimum security standards. I am a big believer in Backing up everything as once all those precious memories, files are lost - that's it. Another minor downside is the limited number of inbuilt apps available, but this hasn't been a major issue for me. Overall, I am very happy with the device, and it functions exactly as described. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and efficient storage solution! I fully recommend this product.

It's alright. I mean it stores data yes, don't get me wrong. The reason for three stars is because there does not seem to be an option so that I can just make the drive shareable with all users. It is setup whereby each of us must create an account whereby each user will only have access to their own data - which is a great feature, but should most certainly not be the ONLY feature. There should be an option to designate an allocated amount of space that can be accessed by anyone on the network (like any other NAS). I was not aware of this when I purchased and gladly would have even spent more on the other WD products that do offer this.
