I bought these shoe stretchers to break in a pair of boots that are too tight on one foot. I was initially very disappointed when I tried to test them out before putting them in my boots. I followed the instructions to increase the length, and it was like the little spinny knob wasn't "catching." Then I tried actually putting them INSIDE my boots, and they worked fine. I guess they need some tension to work properly? Or I'm just a dingus who can't turn a knob correctly? Anyway, I still need to wait a while to see if these actually make my boots for better, but I have no reason to believe they won't. I'll update this review if there are any issues, so if I haven't, just assume everything went fine, dear reader. I would imagine that if they don't stretch out the boots, it's probably due to the boot material and nothing wrong with the product itself. It seems pretty sturdy as far as a plastic thing like this goes. I was also pleasantly surprised that everything came with a handy little drawstring bag for storage (this might be noted in the item description, but if so, I didn't notice because, as previously indicated, I can be a bit of a dingus).
