After my first gallon of distilled water, I proceeded to rinse out the water receptacle. Could not believe my eyes! There was a heavy layer of black/brown sediment in the bottom. This came from my tap water, settling out from the boiling water. Dumped it into sink %26 got some on my hands. Even after washing, my hands still smelled funny. I knew Iowa water was dirty (even after treament plant) but did not expect this oily, dirty mess to come from it. So glad I will be using distilled water for drinking %26 cooking!
