Great charcoal

I use both this brand of briquettes and the charlogs. I love them both but the briquettes fit better in the hopper of my vertical gravity smoker that I also bought at Walmart. I only use B%26B brand because the quality is much better in my experience and I have never found garbage like metal or rocks in their products like many other brands.

This product is a sleeper. I love doing long cooks on my smoker and these briquettes far succeed the Kingfords and other brands. Temperatures get hot quickly and the burn times are great. I have an Oklahoma Joe's Bronco smoker. My last cook I was able to get 2 racks of ribs smoked for 7 hours at ********* degrees, then I pulled the charcoals up and got the temperatures up to about ********* and cooked some lamb, sausages, chicken skewers and veggies. That took another 2 hours and I still have about 1/4 of the coals in the basket unburned. I could easily get a full brisket cooked with these coals and still have time for extra fixins. It helps to have an awesome smoker but the B%26B's are the best!

I've been a Kingsford briquette fan for 70 years. I prefer the charcoal flavor with a touch of wood smoke. What impresses me with this charcoal is the uniform spread of heat along with a full blanket of flame across the bed of coals. Searing becomes a simple exercise, and cooking is streamlined. My Gas2Coal grille hits 550°-600°F which is the temperature the $$$$ steakhouse restaurants use.
