Health challenged senior no car
I am a senior with major health problems, a couple years ago I spent Thanksgiving week in the hospital with kidneys only functioning at 19% (egfr), prior to that, almost died before going to hospital with pancreas emergency, lost my husband to cancer a couplle years ago as well, find myself without a car(so hard to shop if i cant put stuff in car to bring home) no family left to take me to the store, so I take the bus and shop with that in mind (occasional uber but thats expensive on social security) so its good to be able to order freeze dried and dehydrated food that is nutrtious online. I have a soup mix that I make that incorporates different auguson veggies, and with a spoonful of boullion or vegemite, a dashof hot sauce. Im set and happy, and hot soup is especially nice this time of year!! you could say that seniors like me are in greatneed of places online to buy what they need because the alternative is so difficult to coordinate, and dragging groceries home is heavy work when walking from the bus stop. The only cacveat is getting my ebt/snap to be accepted online so that can really be a fly in the ointment at times but more stores are accepting that kind of payment. I was very happy that Trader Joes accepts it. please alert me to special news so I can keep up with the program.

I so love my dehydrated veggies. They taste really good, and so easy to do, I just soak them for 5 minutes to bring them back to good. Then microwave for a couple minutes and voila, put them in whatever i'm cooking, or throwing together, These broccoli bits and pieces are so convenient. Augason Farms Freeze Dried Broccoli
These broccoli florets and stems smell funny when you open them. I divided mine into 5 eight ounce Mason jars and vacuum sealed them then placed a brand new black ankl sock over each jar as dried veggies don't like light. Once you rehydrate, add a touch of butter, and salt, they taste like broccoli that has never been dried. We love cooking with dried veggies. This is great to me. I can make that broccoli rice cheesy casserole with the onions in it. My boyfriend can make his CHinese foods. That's his favorite. We both like this product.
