We recently bought a house and it was important to me to have no chlorine in the tap water. My family and pets can drink from any tap in the house, and there is no chlorine vapour in showers, laundry or dishwashing. Plus no other weird things for anyone with a heavy metal sensitivity. I have happily put my Brita into retirement. Before installing, make sure you have the space and get a quote from someone familiar with this type of installation. My plumbers were great, but it was a learning curve for them, plus a trip to the hardware store for the wall fasteners for the extra piping. Also be clear to your plumber that you want the exterior water taps excluded! Minor hiccups in the installation of a great product!

I bought this a month ago when our original filter had ran it's course. We had awful water in all manners, taste, clarity and minerals. My wife was pregnant at the time and we wanted better water for our little guy on the way. When we initially installed an Aquasana unit we noticed immediately the reduction in the chlorine taste and smell. We also got the benefit of reduced scale and mineral buildup on our water fixtures and appliances. Our shower head goes about a year at a time before we need to clean off the minor deposits that build up. And our skin is less dry without dandruff due to the filtered water. That was a bonus benefit. Our water is so bad from the utility company, that we have to change the pre-filter once a month before it turns dark brown from rust and dirt. I catch it in a white bucket and we have gotten tons of sand, scraps of metal, plastic, solder, and the worst was part of a bandage. Once month is a small price to pay for getting that mess out of what we drink. After five (5) years, on the 300 series, we noticed that our coffee tasted different and there was more scale than normal on the faucet and shower head. So, I ordered a replacement unit. It was a breeze to swap out since the lines were in place from the original installation. I won't live without our Aquasana filtered water now.
