K&H Pet Products Ice Eliminator Super Birdbath Deicer Natural Super 80 Watts

The bird bath heater was a gift for my husband. He loves birdwatching and the heater is perfect for our backyard birdbath. He has been looking for an item like this for awhile and I was so happy when I saw that Walmart offered this heater at a great price.

I bought this bird back deicer on the recommendation of a friend who has one. The one she has is her second one with the first one being the 50W. That one only lasted a year. The 80W is going on it's 4th year now and still keeping her water clear. I've only had this for about a month, but we also have gone through some of the coldest temps this winter, dipping as low as -15 degrees. It's not been above freezing for weeks, yet this deicer has kept the water clear. The birdbath isn't located in an area I can readily see it, (it's up against the house on the back deck under an overhanging vine), but I can hear the birds out there. I gave it 4 stars in some of the areas simply because I've not had it long. I definitely am glad I bought it, it seems tough and fits well is the 14" bath I've put it in. I would recommend it.
