In the description of the item it had a diagram of how the winch would be bolted to the trailer. With other winches, this was not shown. I wanted to replace an old winch quickly without drilling new holes. The adjustable bolt hole pattern worked for me. I have not used the winch in the water yet, but it easily winched the boat a foot on the trailer. Good quality, has a safety latch, and I would recommend.
