American Standard Cadet Touchless Chair Height Elongated Toilet Less Seat Bowls

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I've always loved American Standard toilets, and I was due to change my toilet anyway because the seat was too low. I really like this one because it's high enough and it's comfy and modern and I always get compliments on it from guests.

I researched touchless toilets for a good while prior to purchasing this one. I like the modernization aspect of touchless more so than my concern about sanitation. We have a different touchless toilet in our other bathroom which I purchased about 8 years ago that I really like but sadly they stopped making it. I decided to upgrade to a touchless toilet in our master bathroom and went with this toilet. The toilet itself works fine. I think it's ridiculous that you have to purchase a wax ring and toilet seat with the purchase of this toilet when the company knows these are requirements in order to install and use the toilet. Faults: The toilet flushes with a lot more noise than I'm used to and takes longer for the water to fill up the tank. But the real disappointment is that it's really not touchless. I have the hand gesture mounted 2 feet from the toilet on the wall next to it and you can wave all day without it activating a flush but if you slightly touch it the toilet will flush. Unless you wave your hand multiple times an inch away from it the toilet won't flush. This is kind of disappointing because people buy these kind of toilets because they actually want a true touchless toilet. It still has a very fast and easy flush if you quickly tap the button which is in a convenient location. Improvement on these touchless units are still in need of perfection before they ever warrant a 5 star review.
