9 gauge, Great heavy gauge wire! I am using this for garden bed hoops, which are covered with plastic, shade cloth or frost blankets. I wanted something reasonably priced that will last a long time. You can use about 12 inch lengths of 1/2 inch pvc, with a cap glued on one end, pounding it into the ground or raised bed and place the ends of the wire inside or just poke the wire down into the ground, I prefer the pvc thinking the wire will last longer.
