DO NOT PURCHASE

I would not give this toy any stars if that was an option. I purchased this toy for my 74lb Pitbull mix to keep her entertained when she had extra energy to burn and could not go outside. My doggie only ever got to play with the toy for one day; it quickly unraveled and she ingested some. Saturday, January 12th, she did not eat nor eliminate. The next day, the 13th, she did not eat again, nor did she eliminate, yet she began to vomit. . At first, I thought she may have been feeling a bit under the weather because it had snowed and was extremely cold out, however, when i noticed that she kept vomiting a brownish colored liquid, I knew something was wrong. She came and sat by my bed wanting to sleep with me, which is generally no-no, but I did allow her to sleep with me that evening. First thing Monday, the 14th morning, I took my doggie to the hospital. After two sets of x-rays (which were inconclusive of a potential foreign body within her, the x-rays were sent to a radiologist. She was given a medication to help ease the vomiting. She was also given fluids. Tuesday, the 15th, the results from the radiologist were the same; inconclusive. I felt completely helpless. My doggie was suffering, and it did not seem like there was anything that could be done. Wednesday, January 16, I took my dog back to the hospital for some kind of answer; out of the options provided, one was to have another set of x-rays done in hopes that some progress had been made internally that would appear for a prognosis; there was. A MAJOR foreign body was VERY present and immediate surgery was necessary. Two feet of my dogs intestines were removed because rope from THIS toy was ingested and had wrapped and knotted her intestines so bad, that they were black. This prevented her from eating, eliminating, and feeling like her normal, joyful self. She has been back and forth to the hospital every day since the surgery in order to keep a close eye on her and to aid in her recovery. Today, my dog is fighting for her life. After making it through a four (4) hour procedure, she was given a 40% chance of surviving this ordeal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TOY! IT IS NOT SAFE! DO NOT PURCHASE!
