Perky-Pet 32 oz Orange Plastic Oriole Feeder

I received the Oriole feeder about 1 week ago. At first I could not see how to move the perch arms out. I finally found the knob on the bottom. It is a nice feature which allows different settings, distances from the feeding hole. The feeding holes are designed to not allow bees into them. I really like that as bees come after my hummingbird feeder. I hope it will also keep ants out. I will report back later on that. I had an issue with local weather the last few days, record lows and the liquid actually froze. I brought it in and thawed it out. I put it back out in the yard and in less than 2 hours an oriole was at the feeder. It fed for a while and came back later for more. They recommend cleaning twice a week. I think that is too often but we will see. It does exactly what it is supposed to with some nice features to boot. I would recommend.

Even though I live in the country I'm a novice at birdfeeders but always wanted one to have them come stay a while to look at. This one was very easy to set up although it did not come with any directions at all so I had to google it to see how it worked. The lower wings come out so the birds have a place to perch while drinking and retract if needed. It was light enough to hang high with fishing wire and has a classic shape and color which I've read attracts the orioles. I am using sugar water for now and it was easy to fill and later on would like to replace it with the nectar to see if it would attract more birds. Since I'm new at this I'm keeping an eye on it so I can keep it clean and filled and finally see the birds hang out.
