Bugflector II for Old Silverado

I recently reworked a 1999 Silverado and wanted the protection of the freshly painted hood. My go to is REALTRUCK for my aftermarket needs. Shields and side steps / running boards on my 2011 Silverado are 10 years old and still look great. This shield lined up with the mounting holes on the hood, a quick installation.

Bugflector

A little frustrating to figure out the directions to place the deflector between the hood molding and the lip of the hood itself . Figured it out finally and fitted it correctly, finally . Overall a good match and looks good as advertised. Recommend a snap in anchor rather than screw in plastic ancor as the screw in anchors tend to crush easily. I had some hardened plastic ancors that fit the bill in my tool parts box which only required pressure to seat them firmly . Overall satisfied with product itself . Recommend the product for affordability and function as well as looks .

Poorly designed bug shield

The first one I received was so warped it was uninstallable. The replacement required the use of a heat gun to straighten the mounting tabs. The deflector rubs the top of the grill once the hood is closed due to it's designed shape. I didn't bother to mount the 2 pieces that go over the headlights because they are not shaped correctly to allow the 3M tape to fully adhere to the hood, so they'd eventually blow off in the wind while driving.
