Sanpellegrino Lemon Italian Sparkling Drinks, 66.9 fl oz, 6 Pack Cans

This shipped to me, packaged with two other products to review. It was well packed and was undamaged upon arrival. The cans are just slightly smaller than your average 12 oz can of soda. (The serving size per can is 11.15oz or 330mL) The cans were very well packaged in a pack of six. The plastic was thick enough to hold by an edge and not have the pack open up from the weight on one side. The beverage poured nicely without much dribble from the sides and was lightly carbonated. It does not hold the carbonation very long. It has 18% lemon juice. I really like that everything in it is just normal stuff, water sugar, lemon juice, carbon dioxide, and natural flavors. I'm not really sure what those are, but I'm going to venture a guess that it's proprietary information and I'll never really know. That's okay. It's very palatable and refreshing. NOTE: If you don't like strong lemon, (like actually taking a bite of an unsweetened lemon slice) then you probably might not like this as this might be too sour for you. I think it's just the perfect amount of bite. I chilled my serving. I strongly suggest that you do for maximum refreshment and a crisper flavor. I think the carbonation level fits the level of lemon. IF it were much more I think it would take away from the flavor. It has a slight metallic aftertaste but many lemon flavored items give this aftertaste and it's not uncommon for me to notice it. It has quite a bit of sugar (33g) in it but I really can't taste that at all. It tastes almost salty, but I didn't see it saying anything about salt and I saw no sodium (salt) listed on the nutritional information. I gave one can to my aunt who is in her 70s and she opened it warm and didn't like the stuff at all. My cousin, her daughter, tried it after my aunt gave it to her and she enjoyed the flavor. I think the flavor is something you'll either like or not like. If you have a tendency to reach for the super sweet stuff and enjoy that, this might be too sour for you. If you don't mind sour stuff and are more savory oriented, I think you'll probably like this. My only complaint is that I really wish it came in a larger size packaging like a 12 or 24 pack. I'm hooked on this stuff now!

I've loved this soda for years. This is no ordinary lemon flavored soda. It's a blissfully sparkling lemonade that brings all the bright, puckery summer to your tongue with the very first sip. The carbonation is intense. Ice cold and straight out of the can it's literally the most perfect canned beverage on the market. Lemon is the foreground, strong and sour. The mellow sweetness balances it perfectly. Each time I treat myself to this drink, I wonder how it's been so long since I had it last. It reminds me of homemade lemonade only better. It's a wonderful straight soda which is also a useful tool in mixing cocktails and even baking. If you're a sour fan, you can't go wrong with this. It's not like other lemon sodas or any other drink on the market. Its not loaded down with caffeine and chemicals and the flavor gives you the impression that whomever makes it drinks it themselves.
