Alpine Spiced Cider Original Powdered Drink Mix, Apple Flavor, 10 Pouches

I haven't tasted any cider in decades. This has a strong apple taste to it, I also taste a bit of what I perceived as crab apple. I added sugar to my cup, to get rid of that tart aftertaste. I may have made mine too strong as I used a packet and a half in one 15 ounce of hot water. Not too bad really, I can understand why everyone loves this on an Ohio cold winter evening. One bad thing about this cider mix is the cost, I see no reason why it should cost 10 times more than Lipton® Tea. And due to that fact, I will not be buying it very often.

I was planning on making applebutter and then canning. I needed some plain apple cider, but Walmart only carries various brands of spiced apple cider. I finally chose this apple cider because it is in packets. It took 8 of 10 packets to make enough cider to cover pot of sliced apples. When apples were cooked, I drained cider into a quart size canning jar and put it in refidgerator. There was just enough cider for a mug of it. It is delicious.
