Marie Callender's Beef Pot Pie Large Size Frozen Meal, 15 oz. (frozen)

I was not happy with this at all. The Nutrition label was not clear at all—this is TWO servings?!?!? There is barely enough for one person. Diabetics beware—there are actually close to 100 grams of carbs in this product. Not good at all. I also don't have time or the money to run an electric oven for nearly an hour to heat this up. The quality was substandard at best. I won't be purchasing g this product again…

I normally love Marie Callendar's frozen products, both savory and sweet. And I'm wild about their creamy chicken Parmesan pot pies. So it was with great anticipation that I bought the beef pot pie, thinking that surely it would be far superior to the flavorless Banquet pot pies from my childhood. Boy, was I wrong. The crust was up to Marie Callendar's standards, so no complaint there, and the gravy was tasty, and the veggies were pretty good, although a few more carrots would have been nice. BUT the presumed star of the show, the beef, was a huge disappointment. It wasn't all that tender, although not terribly tough, but it had an old, tallowy flavor. Plus there wasn't much of it, although given the flavor, maybe that was a blessing. Marie, you can do so much better. Instead of a smattering of bad-tasting cubes of meat, why not put loads of tasty, super-tender shredded beef into the mix? I'd even be willing to pay a little more for good quality beef. For now, I'm sticking to the chicken and turkey pot pies.
