It comes with one slide for you to put anything you want in it! My boys have looked at my hair strands, bugs, their wings, flowers, and plants of all kinds. It does work as an actual microscope! The people that say it isn’t haven’t taken more than 5 minutes to look at the thing. It also comes with all the slides to learn about that are videos only. Now if you lose the one slide to put your own stuff in, you can order more slides or just stick it under there without a slide. It’s a fantastic toy! *Picture is of my son and his ant he is looking at on the slide*

A substitute to screentime

I got this on sale, half the regular price… I purchased it for my 6 year old who is going in to kindergarten. He really liked the games and is having a blast collecting his own slides to look at under the microscope. It comes with several slides that are cool as well but he prefers finding his own. Pretty decent magnification for a children's toy.
