very supportive

I'm an artist and I have systemic exertion intolerance disease so it's extremely difficult for me to hold myself up to get any work done because of muscle weakness, especially at a desk. Because I'm stuck in bed most of the time this helps tremendously since it props me up somewhat like a chair back but I'm still able to keep my legs elevated. I just purchased a drive medical overbed table too so that I can have my sketch pads and laptop on a sturdy, higher up surface. It hasn't arrived yet though so hopefully these two items together will really make it easier for me to deal with the physical weakness I constantly feel and start producing work again. It's very strong and wide so it can support different weights and positions without moving too much and it's easy to fold up and store as well.

Back Rest

It is so wonderful. We used to pack about 10 pillows as my husbands back was so bad he could not lay flat. This gives so much better support. We only use 3 pillows to cushion it for his back

OMG! IT WORKS PERFECT

I have tried just about every pillow, backrest, etc. out there and this one WORKS for me! Here is how I use mine: I took a large flat bed sheet and folded it into a long approx 'twin' size and looped it around the bottom rung (closest to where your bottom would touch the back rest) and then I pulled part of it through to the back and 'over' the 'groove slots' when you would set it according to how far back you want this back rest to lean. Then I take a large bean bag pillow thing and lay it across the back (grooves etc) for some weight to make it less likely to slide around when I move around. Then I take a nice soft fluffy pillow and put on the front side of the back rest, and this method is perfect for watching TV or reading in bed. I was just about to order a large bean bag chair and put it on top of my bed LOL haha... and they are expensive for a good nice one! So this back rest has saved me a LOT of money...plus my bed is very high up and the bean bag chair was probably not a good idea LOL... So...YES...I am so happy to finally have found a great solution to being comfortable in bed because I stay awake and watch a lot of netflix movies at night. This is perfect! As others have mentioned, elsewhere I read, that you might need to add a towel or other fabric to the rung and stretch it out so you can sit on it to keep the back rest from moving backward (unless you have a headboard or wall it would anchor up against and I don't because I sleep lower down in my bed). I love it!
