My wife wanted to give this to a co worker/friend who became a Christian almost a year ago. She did not turn all weird, but her good qualities became enhanced with some respected new ones. As a team leader and boss lady, she became even better at her job. Her sons are pre teen and early teens. They'll like this, too. The illustrations are unbelievably awesome, intense, detailed, interesting, and, I'll be honest, as someone who has never read the Bible, this book is absolutely NOT only for kids. It's perfect for adults, teens, pre teens. It's not childish. The price for this is just as outstanding. Buy many to give as a gift. I'll be getting another one of these --for ME! Incredible stories. Incredible people, horrible villains, amazing created heroes, manipulation, big egos having big falls, demons, scheming, people who learn to be courageous by trust, people who can see through lies %26 schemes %26 heal people. Making dead people come back to life. Arams, Assyrians, Egyptians. Some 80 year old lady is so beautiful she gets taken by two different kings two different time. They learned real fast they had to return her to her husband untouched. The most pathetic cowardly men becoming fierce warriors. How to avoid dysfunction in a family before it begins. Spies, weapons, supernatural cool stuff goin' down. This book got this guy's attention. I wanted to learn about the illustrator, too. A cool story about Sergio. I've never heard of this book before and it's been popular for a few years. Sometimes I feel like I've been under a rock. The pictures are cool. Makes a great gift -- for yourself. My wife got all excited that I like reading this book. She went and got me a NKJV Bible so after I read about it from this cool book I can read so much more about it in the NKJV and KJV Bible. I enjoyed reading about a cool cat in the New Testament called Paul. That guy was thrown into one of those gladiator arenas, twice. Beat up and probably died but told to get up and get back out there. Ship wrecked multiple times. The man was converting the staff and household of that sociopath Nero right under Nero's nose. I think Caesar Augustus was originally Octavius who ended Cleopatra and Mark Anthony. Twenty 8 years later a certain special person is born, after the Roman Empire transition was well established and stable

I love the Bible and was a little hesitant to buy it in comic form. I'm not particularly into comics, but my 8 year old friend is and was excited to receive this book as a baptism gift! It is a larger book than I had expected, about 1.5 inches thick! The few pages I read seemed to be thoughtfully written and true to the original. The text is, of course, put into more modern language. I do wish the drawings of Jesus and Mary were portrayed a bit more reverently/ respectfully, but overall I am pleased with this book!
