What happened to the “original” scent?

I have bought 3 different bottles of what I thought was Dawn Original in search of the original fragrance. The new version is horrible. It is overpowering and unpleasant. Why did you change it? Kind of like Coke when they changed the formula, P&G needs to go back to the original scent (or better yet, no scent!) The soap works fine, but I will be looking for an alternative. The new scent is a deal breaker!

As well, we'd like to mention that we updated the scent for our Dawn Original back in February 2024, so it's unlikely that you'd still be able to find the previous scent in stores. New smell is horrible

The new smell turns my stomach. It's so perfume smelling. I now smell my freshly washed glasses and plates before use to be sure the smell is gone. It is not a beauty product. I fail to see how you can claim it's a "clean" smell. It's anyting but. I would not use this even if you gave me a lifetime supply for free. It's repulsive. Go back to how it was. It wasn't broke it was the smell we expect of Dawn.

Because preferences can vary from person to person, we offer a variety of dish soap versions and scents, including a Free & Clear Fragrance Free option. As well, our products undergo stringent quality controls to ensure performance and safety. When the soap scent lingers on your dishes, there could be a few potential causes for this happening. Over time, dish soap buildup can accumulate on dishes. Also, if you have hard water, it can interfere with the effectiveness of the soap and leave behind residue (using a water filter may help). For best results, add about 2 tablespoons of dish soap to the sink, then add water that’s 105-115°F. We don't recommend leaving to soak long term, but to wash promptly, and rinse the dishes thoroughly with clean water. NEW SCENT SMELLS HORRIBLE! Signed, Ex-customer

The new scent is unbearable! I've been using Dawn blue for years to clean my dishes and CPAP tubing, but the smell of the new one is HORRIBLE! It lingers -- even on my hands -- and it's just awful! I'm definitely switching to a different brand. 💯 Signed, Ex Customer Hopefully enough people will complain and Proctor and Gamble will STOP MAKING IT!
