This is our third one. They are made of cedar and will last a few years before needing to be replaced. I build a framed screen about 16” in diameter to catch seed that birds drop. It's easy to fill but does need to be cleaned periodically. They are very well made.

This is one great birdfeeder, and this is why.....
This is one great birdfeeder! Just the right size to keep out those doves that will practically nest in a birdfeeder eating non stop all day. It's also too small for the flock of Grackles that will rake half the food onto the ground for that prized peanut. This allows the cardinals, bluejays, woodpeckers, thrashers, titmice wrens and a variety of others birds to eat happily. The cedar wood construction does not rot or break even after it's been knocked down many times by raccoons. I give it a 2 thumbs up and 5 stars for durability, functionality and appearance. Doesn't keep the squirrels out. But seriously what good looking, functional and economical birdfeeder does? I highly recommend this birdfeeder. Oh, and Walmart has the best price for this Made In America product!
