Not for Linux or NFS file sharing with Windows

This laptop is not an out of the box solution for Linux. You have to dig into the fine print to see that it uses the Mediatek WiFi chip unlike many of the other name brand computers. I missed this point and it came as a surprise that it's not supported in the Linux kernel and that Mediatek isn't very forthcoming with open-source drivers. Out of the box you'll have no WiFi and no Bluetooth and I struggled for a couple evenings before figuring this out. A 3rd party dongle is a workable (but not great) solution. Computer itself work fine with Linux MINT ... with an external WiFi and external Bluetooth dongle. Next time I'd go with HP or Dell or Lenovo. As for operation with Windows 11, I couldn't get NFS network file sharing going as the Home version was installed whereas Pro is needed for this feature. So, another $100 to upgrade to Pro but after a dozen attempts I couldn't get past the 0x80070490 error. I had to download and install a fresh copy of Windows 11 before I could get any further. And it required going into the BIOS and disabling the secure boot.
