As always, Asus has excellent build quality. This machine is used as a media content creation workstation, running Linux. There is a community in Discord that provides unofficial support for people just like me. Asus can do well to officially support its Linux using clients better, by actively being involved in providing fixes to the Linux kernel, and making sure that BIOS is fully standard.

This is a powerful laptop! The X3D cache makes a huge difference! VR with the valve index also works on this laptop too! (Using the right usb-c to displayport adaptors [note, no thunderbolt is in the laptop that I know of]) Everything I've used on here so far has run very fast! From Minecraft RTX to portal RTX to Vrchat in VR on the valve index, to fortnite. It all ran really well at basically the maximum settings that I've tested. Battery life is not the best. The 90 watt hour battery does hold for a few hours if you're on efficient mode and performing lightweight work. But battery life is not the focus of this laptop. The focus of this laptop is the high performance cooling and components of this laptop to provide the best gaming experience with the super smooth 240hz 1440p internal display! For anyone wondering. The intergrated Radeon 610m that's a part of the ryzen 9 7945HX3D is able to perform well for lightweight gaming. Like regular Minecraft and desktop mode vrchat in most worlds during my testing (the Radeon 610m is only able to be used on the internal display in testing) The laptop RTX 4090 is directly wired to the display ports and hdmi from a Quick Look in the nvidia control panel. Perfect! Temperatures are good too! With the cooling system able to keep everything cool in my testing (depending on the fan and performance settings you apply results in various differences in fan speed and performance. The fans I think can spin up to 6,000 rpm and push a lot of air to make sure the laptop stays cool! But I think you'll need to enter manual mode in ASUS armoury crate and set up a fan profile that goes to 100% speed) The ryzen 9 7945HX3D does feel like it's a slightly slower and slightly down clocked version of the desktop ryzen 9 7950X3D. (Resulting in this cpu in the laptop [7945HX3D] to be super good for maximum performance!) Make sure that game mode and stuff pushes the game to the 3D cache cores and that your game (while in Vr) is focused for maximum performance since it does make a difference if the game is focused on or not (clicking on the game window and making sure that's the one up front. You'll know the performance difference when the game is not focused or is focused. It's interesting. This is high performance for sure!) To conclude the review. This laptop was purchased as a way for me to bring around a portable VR system so I don't need to take my desktop around with me. But this is now more powerful than my entire desktop gaming pc! Perfect!
