Right out of the box, this worked flawlessly. I was nervous of the construction quality for such a low priced product, but it's been pumping away for a few weeks now with no hitches. When the sun is down or it's cloudy outside of course you don't get the full effect, instead the pump pulses, which is fine since I use it to move water around in a birdbath.
