You Can Find Much Cheaper Apple Slicers
But the quality of OXO is worth the extra dollars. I bought a cheap one and I was the blade broke off and I ended up cutting my hand. Not too bad but it sure could have been. OXO, on the other hand, makes very sturdy products overall and this is no different. Easy to use, strong and works incredibly well. Even though it's more expensive than many others it's going to save you money, and likely injury, in the long run. I bought a few OXO products many years ago and I still have them. I trust OXO products.

This item was far superior to the off brand one I initially purchased. It still requires a bit of pressure to cut through an apple, but I assume it is necessary so that people don't cut themselves too easily.
