This high-temp gasket maker is suitable for a variety of automotive applications, offering maximum oil resistance. It features a low-odor formula that cures quickly. Simply clean and dry the intended surface, cut the tip and apply a continuous bead around all bolt holes, then assemble your parts while the silicone is still wet. This high-temp gasket maker is non-corrosive, safe for sensors and works in temperatures of up to 500 degrees. It meets or exceeds OE performance specifications to ensure like-new functionality. Each tube contains 3.35 oz of Permatex gasket maker. It comes in Ultra Black that blends with typical under-the-hood components for a clean look.

. Directions:. 1. For best results, surfaces should be clean and dry. 2. Cut nozzle and apply a continuous 1/16" 1/4 (2 to 6mm) bead of silicone to one surface, surrounding all bolt holes. Assemble parts immediately while silicone is still wet. Finger tighten until material begins to squeeze out around flange. 3. Let dry for one hour then tighten to torque specifications. 4. Allow 24 hours to fully cure before filling with fluids or returning to service. 5. Replace cap after use. Note: Not recommended for use on head gaskets or parts in contact with gasoline.

Great for a gasket on my water pump
I used this ultra black to make a water pump gasket for my 1978 Datsun 810. It worked fine, but here are some tips. One: It is much thicker than Permatex No. 1 and No. 2 and therefore harder to work with. Leaving it out in the sun before using it might help. Two: Follow the directions. Especially the timeline. If you don't have 24 hours to do the job, then wait til later. Three: Cleaning your fingers is easy with Gojo and a rag.

Great for gaskets or permanent rubber glue!
Ultra Black RTV sealer works great for valve cover gaskets, oil pan, transmission, diff gaskets. I know people who have used this to make head gaskets on hot engines that last for tens of thousands of miles and counting with no leaks. Also works great for gluing speaker cones to diaphragms!
