'sprocket seizing up' issue

About 'sprocket seizing up' issues: I usually use my 450 with 18" bar to prepare fire wood, just now and then to fall or process whole trees. A few times I had the bar pinched after which I found that the chain wouldn't rotate any more, like if the brake was on. After inspecting the situation closely I found that wood chips had accumulated between the nose sprocket and the chain and stuffed between the sprocket's teeth, blocking totally the rotation of the sprocket. After clearing the chips the nose sprocket was free to rotate. In my cases it weren't seizures due to lack of oiling. Thought it would helpfull to share this on this forum.

20” x force bar SUCKS!!!

My 450 Rancher is less than 2 years old and has gone through 2 20” x force bars.due to the so called maintenance free bar with no oil port and sealed which sizes up. I'm very disappointed in Husqvarna who has a good product. The darn sprocket seizes because of lubrication or should I say lack of lubrication. This bar has no oiling port as most bars have and Husqvarna brags about the no maintenance bar. If I had it to over again, I would have replaced my Stihl with a Stihl and not have to be in the woods wondering if the husky is going to fail yet again. Husky needs to send me 2 new X force bar to replace my 2 that have sized up. This is absolutely ridiculous that I pay the high price for the saw and it doesn't last due to a bad engineering design Husky refuses to acknowledge.

Seized up after minimal use.

I've had this bar for about 5 months but only put a couple hours on it. The nose sprocket seized up while limbing a tree yesterday. This bar needs a grease port for the nose sprocket. I don't feel I can trust Husqvarna bars anymore so I'll spend my money on aftermarket bars.
