The practice of the Social Worker in health (Paperback)

This research work investigates about the specificity of Social Work when it intervenes in the field of health. The effective practice of Social Work, in this scenario, presents at least two dimensions that intersect in the professional practice. The first encompasses the different theoretical, methodological and technical perspectives with which each Social Worker constructs his/her professional specificity, and the second is located in the conception of health with which he/she listens to his/her demand. This is a catalyst of how he/she will structure his/her professional offer in this determined field of action.The medicalization of the practices in health usually affects this profession condemning it to instrumentalist practices, which reproduce this characteristic, but there can be a way out, if from the reflection of the disciplinary field the professional practice is reinstalled in the human rights.
