It's been a constant search to find the ONE product to obtain manageable hair without a heavy coating. I have waist length, fine, wavy to soft curly natural gray hair that I prefer to air-dry as it's more prone to split ends and breakage when I do a blowout, even with heat protection products and using a cool air setting or the lowest heat setting on a flat iron.
