Great for an extension for a bike rack!

Well it definitely puts my bike rack far enough of the car for me. How ever still had to put a couple of shims in there to stop swaying. Now it doesn't sway as much as the adapters that came with the bike rack.

Adapter

This product is work like you said. It is worth a lot better than the adapter kit product came with. The setback is also nice because it keeps the bicycles off the car. It is very sturdy.

works fine with adjustment

This is a genuine Reese TowPower Receiver Adapter. I installed it but there was 3/32" slack in the 1 1/4" female slot when I inserted a standard 1 1/4" male. I cut a common door hinge which had this thickness to act as a shim and now there is no slack at all. Also I had to use a round file to "open up" the hole where the standard locking pin slides in on the 2" end. I'm recommending this item because the price is great and there is no alternative.
