Item is excellent. Horizon support fell short

Would normally give 5 stars but the lead to the receiver switch is short. I realize these units normally slot into factory built boats but for scratch builders like myself it's often not practical to mount the switch so close to the ESC, especially on larger models. This has not been a problem in the past as the on/off switch can be connected via two wires which are simply extended to the exterior switch I fitted, but this unit has 4 wires and two buttons. When taking the switch apart, there was a printed circuit encased in clear plastic inside. A meter on the leads showed the receiver switch was not a simple on/off switch. I called Horizon technical support and was told they had no suggestions and wouldn't support any modifications, but I understood this is a Horizon product. Surely other scratch builders would have the same problem. I got around it by taking the push button on the printed circuit apart and soldering two wires onto the two tiny blades of the switch. An external switch (hidden in a fake freezer - it's a Wesmac lobster boat!) controls the switch supplied with the unit, which is now enclosed in a large shrink wrap! The ESC works perfectly and can handle the loads advertised. Horizon has been very professional and helpful in the past and other than this call, I've always been impressed.
