ornate, but not what i was hoping for

these are very substantial double strap hinges. excellent quality. but I wanted to use them to reattach a toy box or blanket chest lid. unfortunately the wood screws they provided are extremely long. I wish they would have provided two different sizes. the other thing is the openings for the screws on the hinge are large so that you will not be able to use other shorter screws without a washer. probably on a gate if you don't care that it protrudes through an inch or so that might be okay
