Very thick, but it's soft. Your body just melts onto the mattress. I was sleeping on a couch before this bed, %26 before that I've always settled for your basic full size mattress. I'm never going back! It was definitely worth the money! My 33week pregnant body also appreciates this bed so much. Last night I let my 3 kids sleep with me %26 to my surprise we all had enough room to sleep cozily.
