Not Durable At All

They are a must, as the Max is super vulnerable and the lenses scratch super easy. unlike the other gopros there isn't a way to swap out the lenses without sending it off. The issue then is the lens covers reduce image quality a lot and scratch super easy, like ridiculously easy. as soon as they are scratched they are useless. so your option is to risk damaging your cam and write it off or use caps that cost a lot and make a lot of your images look rubbish..... not impressed with these or the Max

They do protect, but they downgrade image quality

To me, the greatest disadvantage of the GoPro MAX is the chance of the lenses getting scratched. While this cover protects them from getting scratched, they catch light sources and make your video look awful. You're essentially covering high-quality glass lenses with an acrylic bubble that then degrades image quality. I'm glad they exist, but They've ruined more than one shot for me due to the weird look they create from time to time.

Easily Scratched

The protective lens do protect the camera lens however they are easily scratched. I've tried handling my cameras with caution however even placing them very gently onto a countertop or desk can scratch the protective lens… and I don't lay my cameras down on the protective lens covers. I place my cameras down on their sides. I now wrap my cameras in a microfiber towel when not in use and that still doesn't prevent the protective lens covers from getting scratched. It's very annoying when I've put new protective lens covers on and later discover upon reviewing the footage that there's a small scratch right in the middle of my footage. The protective lens covers need to be made more durable. I'm replacing them too often… you probably can use times before a scratch appears. These are really only reliable for a one time use. I hope a better quality product becomes available soon. If I find a better quality product I'll update this post.
