PureGuardian Himalayan Salt Lamp Ultrasonic Humidifier with Aroma Tray, 3-in-1 H1117W

I'm usually very skeptical about multi-function appliances that claim to do the work of several separate units at the same time. I've always wanted a Himalayan salt rock lamp and an ultrasonic humidifier so I decided to give PureGuardian's H1117W Cool Mist Humidifier Salt Lamp unit a try. To my surprise, this unit performs quite well and actually exceeded my expectations. The "Aromatherapy" feature is an added bonus and easily rivals my standalone essential oil diffuser in terms of filling my room with beautiful scents and aromas (you will need to buy the oils separately). PureGuardian's customer service informed me that this unit is not considered an oil diffuser, even though the product box says it is. Anyway, it sure does perform as such! The model H1117 is not designed for large areas and is recommended for rooms of up to 200 square feet of space - which is perfect for my bedroom. I like the fact that this unit has three different timer settings (2, 4, and 8 hours) that can automatically turn the ultrasonic humidifier portion off. However, the salt rock lamp will remain on and you have to manually turn it off. This is not a problem for me at all because the salt rock lamp emits a lovely glow of soft orange light that I find to be calming and aesthetically pleasing when the room is completely dark. Last but not least is the "misting" feature. It contains only a 'high' and 'low' setting...no medium. In my opinion, the low setting is adequate for my needs. That setting delivers a relatively powerful mist, and I'm satisfied with the distribution of my essential oils aroma in my bedroom. Besides, the water tank on the H1117 holds about two [2] cups of water and I'm not quite sure how things will be effected if the high settings were kept on constantly. I must say that the mist seems like it's more than three times powerful. I'm also delighted that the salt rock lamp and ultrasonic humidifier can operate independently. This is great because sometimes I only want to turn the salt rock lamp on at night. Another good thing is the H1117 is energy-efficient too. When all the features are turned on and the unit is set on High, the output wattage will be around 14W. If all features are on and the unit is set to Low, the watt usage will drop to 11W. The wattage will be even lower if just the lamp selected. PureGuardian's H1117W Cool Mist Humidifier Salt Lamp is an ingenuous appliance and not 'gimmicky' as I thought it would be. It is easy to use, and all the features perform very well. The unit appears to be durable and is an excellent value for the asking price. I recommend the H1117W to anyone who wants a medium sized humidifier, salt lamp, and aromatherapy unit that is consolidated in one package.
