The alternator I purchased arrived in condition that was stated. Came with simple step-by-step instructions with pictures, which was great for someone like me who doesn't know much about cars and who learns as they go. The part itself works great, have had zero problems. The thing I'm happiest with is the price, partsgeek.com had it over 50% off of what the local auto parts store had for selections. This is the third part I've ordered through this website and I will be ordering the next one I need from here as well.
