The system seems to work as intended, but I do not understand why Google has not migrated the entire nest system to the Google home service. in this day and age I do not think I should have to have two apps to install and use one product from one company

Hi there, Good news is that most Nest Thermostats and other Nest devices can be moved to the Google Home app, requiring a migration of your Nest account to a Google account to access them fully within the Google Home app. See this article for more details on how to control all your Google Nest devices in one place: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/13038234?hl=en
