A corset is a garment worn to hold and train the torso into a desired shape, traditionally a smaller waist or larger bottomSince the late 20th century, the fashion industry has borrowed the "corset" to refer to tops which, While these modern corsets and corset tops often feature lacing or boning and generally imitate a historical style of corsets. Plastic is now the most commonly used material for lightweight, faux corsets and the majority of poor-quality corsets. Tightening or loosening the lacing produces corresponding changes in the firmness of the corset, These modern styles are functional as well as fashionable and are designed to be worn with comfort for a dramatic look.
How to Buy a Corset?
1. Decide what type of boning you require in your corset.
2. Decide whether you want an overbust or underbust corset.
An overbust corset covers the breasts, while an underbust corset stops just below them. Underbust corsets are far easier to buy off the rack than overbust corsets as they go by the waist measurement only, rather than waist and bust.
3. Consider the type of fabric you want.
4. Consider the way you want your corset to fasten at the front.
5. Take your measurements with a tape measure.
Corset is in order to make a more slender body, please don't compare with the general clothes' size. Please measurements around your bust, just below your bust, your waist and your hips.
How to put on a corset by yourself ?
1. Loosen the corset by undoing the centre loops and pulling the back of corset apart 6-7" but don't undo the laces at the bottom of the corset.
2. Carefully line up the two sides of your busk on the front of the corset. Line up the pins and the holes and clip the busk together.
3. Tighten the lacing. Starting from the top. Next, go to the bottom of the lacing and pull the laces tighter there.
4. Make a second pass to adjust the tightness. As you tighten, adjust the tightness of each X so that it keeps the two sides straight and parallel. Tie the corset into a bow or knot.
5. There is a panel at the back of the corset which you can use to cover up your back under the lacing(optional) or fold it into the corset for a more exposed look for your back under the lace up.
6. Check for signs that you need to adjust your corset. A well-fit corset should have a gap at the back with sides that are perfectly parallel.
