If you're in the 170s with hip-ish area probably a 2XL will be fine, depending you could do an xl but it may be fitting. I don't mind underwear being fitting but not to the point where I don't have a little wiggle room as far as if I want to use a pad or something like that. nevertheless I wish they had more colors but these are a must. Just as to me good quality As Victoria's secret but much cheaper
