After reading some of the one and two star reviews among many five star (on the super-behemoth internet retailer), it soon became obvious that some folks were ordering their shoes from dubious sources who are selling knock-offs. For this reason I chose to order direct from Stacy Adams. I paid about $120 including shipping. If you see prices in the $60-90 range, please look elsewhere!
I am a mid-50s male, shoe size 14W, and I spent a few hours searching for some reasonably-priced dress shoes that would fit my unusual size requirement, that would be comfortable (I have been suffering from plantar fasciitis), and would look super sharp. This is my first Stacy Adams shoe purchase, and Wow! Found them!
I wore them for the first time to a formal Christmas party (coat and tie) on December 10th. I was impressed with the quality/price ratio from the very start! I had to cram my foot into them, but once inside, my foot had just enough room to feel both comfortable and well-supported. I was on my feet for three hours, dancing non-stop for at least an hour of that time, and my feet felt GREAT!
And once again please note: ***this was the first wearing!***
I wore them again last night to a business casual New Years dinner and after-party (nice jeans and an unbuttoned dress shirt), and again, was very impressed by the comfort. Definitely a purchase I would make again, and I would recommend these versatile, handsome and comfortable without hesitation to any dudes looking for a super-sharp and comfortable dress shoe in the $100-150 price spectrum.
One other thing: I lucked out on the fit of these shoes, but in the past have suffered with shoes that were too big or too small. I always suffered the consequences! Dudes, do yourself a favor and consider the hundreds of hours you spend in your shoes. If you mess up on the size, return them for the correct size. You'll be glad. :)
