The Delfonics - TELL ME THIS IS A DREAM (BONUS TRACKS EDITION) - Music & Performance - CD

Although this album is not the sonic blockbuster of The Delfonics' eponymously titled release, it has at least four great songs ("Hey Love", "Walk Right Up To The Sun", "Delfonics Theme" and "Tell Me This Is A Dream"). The rest of the album is comprised of mediocre songs with some occasionally interesting lyrics. Unfortunately, the mastering sucks. I pulled out my old vinyl album for comparison. Even with the ticks and pops the album sounded much better. As an example, on this CD release the bass is so subdued and muffled one has trouble following its lines. It is much more prominent on the vinyl and gives the entire recording much more texture and life. There are better versions of the "good" songs. You might consider buying the vinyl album from ebay unless you are a collector and need this CD to fill out your Delfonics collection.
