These alkaline, manganese dioxide batteries are great for use with tape recorders, transistor radios, toys, clocks, and other electronic equipment. Each C battery frequently lasts more than twice as long as the same-size, carbon-zinc battery, depending on the type of use. The cylindrical battery has flat terminals. The nominal voltage is 1.5 volts. Non-rechargeable batteries are packaged by people with disabilities. They meet American National Standards Institute 18.1 (ANSI 18.1) for portable primary alkaline battery cells.
